"The garden truly is food for the soul, which is why we design and build garden landscapes to be used and enjoyed. Whether that’s entertaining friends, playing with the kids or relaxing in the sunshine, you want a peaceful space to enjoy."

- Andrew Little, Director/Founder
2 Men and a Shovel - Gardening and Landscaping Melbourne

From Melbourne to
Byron Bay

From Melbourne to Byron Bay

It all started in Melbourne, where Andrew Little built 2 Men and a Shovel one project and one client at a time. He’s proud of the relationships and outdoor spaces that came out of those years, and Melbourne will always be home base for his work. But Byron Bay was a long-held dream. A life by the beach with is family, surfing during their free time, and the chance to work in a whole new landscape. So Andrew made the move, and he still travels back and forth on a regular basis.
Andrew loves the variety that comes with working in two very different places. In Byron Bay, it’s lush, layered planting and a laid-back, coastal feel. In Melbourne, it’s refined, structured gardens with plants that give you something to enjoy through every season. Choosing the right plants for each place is part of the fun.
Our portfolio

Byron bay, NSW

We understand that outdoor living is a way of life in Byron Bay, from entertaining areas to easy-care gardens, we consider it all. Our Byron team designs and builds with the coastal setting and local climate in mind, handling everything from paving and retaining walls to irrigation, turf and planting.

Melbourne's East, VIC

In Melbourne’s Glen Eira, Bayside and Stonnington vicinity, our team takes care of everything landscaping, from paving, retaining walls and fencing to irrigation, turf and careful plant selection, so you deal with one team rather than chasing multiple trades. You get the same care and craftsmanship as every project we take on.
