Working with a blank slate, we created an eye-catching driveway with light-coloured concrete slabs and a beautiful stone walkway to the front double door. We included a lush patch of grass and a garden bed full of different fruit trees and various green plants. We also decided to do brick edging around the concrete to create more interest, paired with concrete sleeper walls to raise the garden bed and add dimension.

Usually, people tend to neglect the side of the house because it’s out of sight but we decided to add a raised garden bed with a plentiful amount of magnolia trees which will grow taller and have amazing white blooms. We also included an outdoor shower and Merbau Decking with a drain – super practical, since the house has a pool in the backyard.

Following along to the backyard, the concrete wraps around the whole property and leads to the Merbau Decking in the entertaining area in front of the pool. It creates the perfect space for lounge chairs and an outdoor dining set – great for entertaining.

The glass pool fence creates an open feel whilst keeping the pool area safe. Around the pool, we used Travertine pavers, and Bluestone Copping tiles to add more interest. Surrounding the pool are rendered retainer walls for the raised garden beds. We selected standard rose trees which will look amazing during springtime and they won’t drop too many leaves around the pool.

We also set up irrigation around the garden to make it easier to look after the plants.

On the other side of the house is a narrow walkway, which we decided to plant bamboo to create a nicer view outside the window rather than just a plain fence. We also installed a trellis with creeper plants to create a lovely green wall.

Our team had a lot of fun with this landscaping project, from the softscaping to the hardscaping, we’re very happy with how it’s come together.
